For the past few weeks it’s been all fairy tales, all the time—but it’s time to move on! At least for a while… I’ve started planning the next issue of the fairy tale anthology series I edit, but it’s in the super early stages, so I can safely ignore that for a few weeks. Which is a good thing, because I have 3 short stories to finish, and edits to do for another anthology. 🙂
One of my major goals for 2019 is to start focusing on writing novels. Easy peasy! Except that I have 11 short stories to write (probably more, since things always seem to pop up), and several anthologies to put together. Ack! So many things!
Fortunately, one of my super powers is organizing things! 🙂
I’ve been trying to think about the different types of tasks I need to do, and to stack them up to make myself more efficient. For example, I like to write posts about each story in the anthologies I edit. In the past I usually wrote these one at a time, but with Dawn of the Monsters I wrote them all at once. The work is still the same, but it takes less time this way. I’ve also realized that I should write these right after reading the stories, since that way the stories are fresh in my mind. The more opportunities I can find to increase my own efficiency, the less time things take me—and that should translate into more time to work on novels.
Will this really work? I have no idea! 🙂 But I’ll find out!
