A witch bewitched
Bewitchery is now officially available!!!
Ceana wakes up one summer morning with the realization that she’s in love with Gideon Smith. This makes complete sense to her in spite of the fact that she’s disliked Gideon since the day they met.
All these years she’s been hiding from her true feelings, afraid to admit to herself how much she cares for him.
Or has she?
Finally Ceana realizes she’s under a love spell. But who caused her to fall for someone she doesn’t even like? And why?
Available on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Kobo, iBooks, and Barnes & Noble.
Bewitchery is a short novella or a long short story, depending on how you want to look at it. It’s technically a novelette, but most people – including an awful lot of writers – don’t know or use that term. So I’m calling it a short novella.
This story was really fun to write, and I had a great time designing the cover, too. In fact, I liked another image with the same model so much that I’ve come up with another story that involves the same character, Ceana.
Ceana is a Gaelic name, and is pronounced KEH na. But as my character is fictional, her feelings won’t be hurt if you make up a different pronunciation. 🙂
With Bewitchery, I decided to completely revamp my approach to formatting ebooks. That seemed like such a simple and quick thing to do when I first started… Many, many hours later I’ve restructured my ebook template (among other things, the copyright information is now at the back of the book instead of the front), I used glyphs to indicate section breaks as opposed to a string of tilde characters, and I created my first ebook using InDesign. Whew! The end result looks great (or at least it does in everything I’ve tested it with, so hopefully that means it looks great everywhere). I love the section break characters.
I am planning on releasing Bewitchery in paperback as well, but that won’t happen until probably October because I need to lay out the paperback version, finish designing the back cover and spine, and then get a proof copy (or two) to make sure that everything looks correct in print. So it will be a little while, but it will happen.
My next newsletter is coming out on the autumnal equinox, so sign up now if you’re interested!
Hopefully all the time I spent into formatting the ebook for Bewitchery will make it easier to put together the ebook for “The Lesson of the Love Spell,” which I’m about to start working on. This short story will be available on October 1st in The Witches’ Brew bundle. 🙂
