Three of My Anthologies Are in the Fantasy Bundle of Bundles!
Three anthologies I edited are in the 2026 Fantasy Bundle of Bundles on StoryBundle!
This bundle was organized by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, and contains fifteen collections, for forty-seven individual books total. That is a LOT of books!!!
My contribution is volumes 4, 5, and 6 in the anthology series A Procession of Faeries. I started this series because I wanted to publish the kinds of stories I wanted to read. It’s been really fun to work on over the years, and I’m excited to be a part of this collection!
The first volume in my series is The Faerie Summer, and it was the very first anthology I ever put together. I didn’t realize I’d turn it into an anthology series. 🙂 The first book had a simple theme (faeries/the Fae). After that I used more specific themes, and provided information about what I was looking for each time I put out a call for submissions. The themes: midwinter; fairy paths, portals, and passageways; water fairies; the Wild Hunt; changelings; and right now I’m working on edits for volume 7, Faery Bargains.

The bundle’s up for a few more weeks if you want to check it out.
It’s been very hot here lately. Not as hot as other places—I have some author friends who live in Vegas and I can’t even imagine living there in the summer. We take turns taking the dogs hiking every day, and there’s no way they could handle the heat there. Nor could I!
A couple of years ago I was at a writing workshop in Vegas in August and my friend DeAnna and I went to the Mob Museum (very cool!) with her daughter, Ray. The plan was to go to meet a group of local writers for lunch afterward. We talked about getting a ride, but DeAnna had walked to the restaurant before and said it wasn’t far.
It was 113 degrees… 🙂
We walked a third of a mile, mostly in the shade even (I sent an email to one of the people we failed to meet up with afterward, so I’m not making this up) and then gave up and ducked into the nearest air conditioned restaurant. And yes, we took a car back to the hotel.
While it hasn’t been that hot here in Colorado, the weather is not nearly as pleasant as it was a month ago when I would sit outside and work for hours. At one point I was going outside with a cooler of ice for my sparkling water, an extension cord, and an electric fan—all that on top of the 3 pillows I use to prop up my chair, my laptop, and my phone. (Which I don’t really need, but it goes with me nonetheless. Besides, it’s handy when I suddenly feel compelled to do a burst of exercises on Duolingo.)
Oscar likes to jump in the creek (it’s really an irrigation ditch) after hiking, but the water has been off for the past few weeks. I bought him a swimming pool in the hope that he’d enjoy it. I don’t think “enjoy” is the right word. He will jump in it to get his ball, but he’s smart enough to realize that sooner or later the ball will float near the edge of the pool and he can grab it without getting in the water. Here’s a photo of him doing his best to make me happy, even though he really didn’t want to be in the water. 🙂
